She was a revolutionary artist who became a pop icon and a symbol for all women—but who was Frida Kahlo in real life? This documentary explores her art as well as her photos, clothes, and personal objects not always accessible to the public. How much energy and vitality are released from her paintings? Discover the answer for yourself as the film rolls through the heart of Mexico, amid cactuses, monkeys, deer, and parrots, alternating exclusive interviews with period documents, evocative reconstructions, and works by Kahlo herself, including her most famous self-portraits.

General admission seating. All screenings take place downtown in Buck Hall’s Landis Cinema. Buck Hall is located at the corner of North Third and Snyder Streets.

Tickets: $15 for the general public; $6 for non-Lafayette students with valid I.D.
