Considered by many to be the greatest tragedy ever written, Shakespeare’s King Lear sees two aging fathers—one a King, one his courtier—reject the children who truly love them. Their blindness unleashes a tornado of pitiless ambition and treachery, as family and state are plunged into a violent power struggle with bitter ends.

Ian McKellen leads the cast of the five-star Chichester Festival Theatre production with an “extraordinarily moving portrayal” (Independent) of King Lear. Jonathan Munby directs this contemporary retelling of Shakespeare’s tender, violent, moving and shocking play.

General admission seating. All National Theatre Live screenings take place downtown in Buck Hall’s Landis Cinema. Buck Hall is located at the corner of North Third and Snyder Streets.

Tickets: $15 (just $6 for students with ID)
