With Side-Eye, Metheny is joined by up-and-coming musicians with whom he shares musical kinship: James Francies, hailed “a pianist with liquid dynamism in his touch” by The New York Times, and drummer Joe Dyson, whose unpretentious musicality draws admiration on jazz stages around the world. As Pat Metheny Side-Eye, the three revel in the guitar legend’s emblematic style—loose and flexible articulation blended with an advanced rhythmic and harmonic sensibility.
