Mahmoud Chouki is a Moroccan-born, New Orleans-based guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and collaborator whose music moves fluidly across cultures and traditions. Rooted in European classical and jazz guitar, his sound draws from influences around the world, reflecting a deep commitment to musical exchange. Performing on classical guitar, oud, loutar, Algerian mandole, Bağlama saz, banjo, percussion, and more, Chouki brings remarkable range and warmth to the stage. During his Lafayette residency, he will perform twice: first on October 3 with Lafayette music faculty as part of the Fall Arts Festival, and again in February for his featured residency performance.
