Neave Trio

Thursday / February 8 / 8 p.m.

With performances that “balance passion with sensitivity and grace” (BBC Music Magazine), the Neave Trio epitomizes the meaning of the Gaelic name “Neave:” bright and radiant.

The wide-ranging program includes Ravel’s brooding yet energetic Piano Trio in A minor and Samuel Coleridge Taylor’s beautiful and beloved Five Negro Melodies for Piano Trio. Dedicated to championing original works by living composers, Neave will conclude with Lafayette composer and faculty member Kirk O’Riordan’s Cadenza for Piano Trio, the third movement of a commissioned work created as a complement to Beethoven’s Op. 56.
